Parent Requirements
1) Parents of Mary's Angels choristers in the 5-6 age group may leave the Corpus Christi campus during class time. All Mary’s Angels parents must provide a phone number for texting. If we need to reach you in case of emergency or if your child does not feel well, we will do so via text message. The class monitor will contact you and you will be expected to return to the classroom promptly to care for your child.
2) Parents of Mary's Angels choristers in the 3-4 age group must be on the church grounds during class time. On-campus locations may include the play room, school hallways, the sanctuary, parking lot or parish offices. If we need to reach you, we will do so via text message. All Mary’s Angels parents must provide a number for texting, or remain in the play room during class time. If your child needs to use the restroom or otherwise has need of a parent, the class monitor will contact you and you will be expected to return to the classroom promptly to care for your child.
3) Parents may not congregate and chat in the Mary’s Angels classroom; all parents in the classroom are expected to be participating in the class.
4) When in school hallways, parents must keep children from running. Parents must not enter classrooms other than the ones designated for the Schola's use.
5) Parents are allowed to sit in on the Mary's Angels class and bring toddlers and babies with them, as long as the younger children are not interrupting the Mary's Angels class activities.
MONITOR REQUIREMENTS
If a parent signs up to be a class monitor to earn a registration fee rebate ($15 per class) or earn some additional income, he/she must follow the monitoring requirements below:
1) Music Class Monitors must be SAFE trained.
2) Monitor arrives at 3:30pm to help set up the music classroom and playroom, including snacks. Monitors assist the instructor with any help needed during music classes at 3:30-4:45pm , and makes sure children ages 5-6 safely walk to and from the bathroom. The monitor will remain outside of the bathroom at all times. If a 3-4 year old needs to use the bathroom, the monitor will text the parent of the child to retrieve his/her child.
3) Monitor accompanies the children to the play room and ensures children are signed out by their parents. Monitor helps clean up the music classroom and snacks, after which he/she can leave, probably around 5:00 PM.
